2008 CHARITY PROGRESS REPORT
Work on site in Kenya was put on hold due to the post-electoral violence but work continued from home in Canada:
Fundraising Events, dinners, silent auctions, teas;
Networking with interested individuals, potential volunteers, & organizations;
Contacts were made with the Edmonton Kenya Community Association;
Assisting Emmanuel Foundation to clear their containers resulted in them gifting us a playground system for 2 schools in Nyanza Province;
Attended the Alberta Government conference on Volunteers... "Vitalize"
Participated in a 4 day workshop on Bio-sand Filters, through CAWST (Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology) in Calgary, AB
Continued with regular networking with the locals in Kenya and with a Kenyan from the USA who is doing related work in his village less than 2 hours from Nyarut Village.
